Founder And Creator Of The Ultimate Dutch Oven Dent Sorensen

Dent Sorensen was born and raised in Salina, Utah. He worked with cattle all his life, helping his father on a mountain range. With a history of cooking in a trailer house and a campfire all his life, he is the inventor of the Ultimate Dutch Oven.

The idea for the Ultimate Dutch Oven originally came from a tire rim. He hired a welder named Newell Hatch in Aurora, Utah to weld some handles for his new invention. The tire rim worked so well that Dent made a smaller oven out of steel. The steel worked even better then the tire rim, so he then created an oven out of cast iron. This cast iron oven worked great and eventually, he had a thick walled oven cast out of aluminum

This design turned out so well that Dent had his design patented. His daughter Denene met the President of Camp Chef, Ty Measom, at a gun show in California and soon thereafter The Ultimate Dutch Oven by Camp Chef came was born.

Dent's remarks about the Ultimate Dutch Oven: "It's the cone."
